Los Altos Model Forest is an initiative of the International Model Forest Network (IMFN), focused on promoting the sustainable management of natural resources around the world. In Guatemala, this initiative functions as a platform to articulate different actors related to forest management in 8 municipalities. Participants include civil society groups, government institutions, community leaders and other non-governmental actors. The Los Altos Model Forest aims to strengthen community participation in forest conservation. Among its achievements is the participatory development of the Subnational Forest Governance Agenda, which was implemented in 8 Guatemalan municipalities.

Mode of Selection of Participants: is the innovation open to all participants, access is restricted to some kind of condition, or both methods apply?
Type of participants: those who participate are individual citizens, civil society organizations, private stakeholders or a combination of those?
