Security Council and Crime Prevention (CABA)
The Security and Crime Prevention Council (CABA) is an advisory body with advisory functions in preventative security policies of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. The coordination of the Council will be in charge of an expert chosen by the Executive of the City Government. For its operation, plenaries take place in which various state estates are represented: the Justice and Security and Social Promotion areas of the Executive Branch; six deputies of the City of Buenos Aires; a representative of the Judicial Council; the Attorney General of the City of Buenos Aires; a member of the Criminal and Correctional Chamber of the City; the Chief of the City Security Police; and the director of the Institute of Criminal Policy, Security and Prevention of Violence. From civil society, two residents participate in the representation of the Neighborhood Councils of Prevention of the Crime and Violence. The functioning of the Council also includes the carrying out of stages of community participation such as: assemblies of the Crime Prevention Plan, neighborhood networks of solidarity for crime prevention, and other meetings created in response to particular needs.
