Participatory Community Management Program "Pro Communa"
Within the framework of the Program for Decentralization and Modernization of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, the Participatory Community Management Program "Pro Comuna" was developed, which sought to develop as a consensus the planning, management and presentation of programs at the local level. For this, consultations and neighbor meetings were carried out; also spaces were created to support the formation of community associations, in order to identify the limitations, needs and opportunities of each neighborhood. To determine priorities in local policies, an Honorary Consultation Council was formed with different thematic working groups. This process was one of the innovations selected in the Latin American and Caribbean Good Practices Competition of the Second United Nations Conference on Human Settlements (HABITAT II), sponsored by Dubai in 2002.
