Techo Argentina

"Techo" came to Argentina in 2003 while expanding throughout the Latin American region. The main objective of this project is the development of precarious settlements in the country, the promotion of social action and the denunciation of the social exclusion faced by vulnerable populations. The project is carried out in three phases: the first consists in the evaluation of the area; the second in the participatory planning of solutions to different problems (especially related to community infrastructure) that is carried out jointly with volunteers and citizens and is based on the results of the initial diagnosis; and the third phase in the implementation of said agenda. Within the framework of this methodology, Techo Argentina has built 1,462 emergency homes; led a microcredit and school support program. Moreover, the project has created spaces for 70 work groups and established 12 community development projects.
