Transportation and Transit Master Plan
The Transportation and Traffic Master Plan of General Pueyrredón was developed by local governmental and academic institutions, together with the University of Buenos Aires and the Institute of Urban Research and Planning of Curitiba. The purpose of the initiative is to analyze the mobility model of the municipality and develop a plan which contains proposals for improvement. In the diagnosis-stage, a survey was carried out to study citizens? mobility patterns (for instance, the trips they make daily). This survey data, as well as government statistics on congestion levels and accidents, served as input to the plan. The latter models demand of mobility and identifies key aspects that shall be addressed by the government, such as the integration of non-motorized mobility and prioritization of public transport.
