Human Rights Organizations Directorate of the Public Entity Space for Memory and the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights

The Human Rights Organizations Directorate of the Public Entity Space for Memory and for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights was created in 2008 by National Law No. 26,415.The Directorate is made up of 15 representatives of non-governmental organizations that focus their work on Human Rights. The Directorate advises the Executive Branch of the Public Entity Space for Memory and for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights in the activities the latter carries out for the management of the memorial site located on the property occupied by the former Army?s school of mechanics (Span. ESMA) and other adjoining units, in which a detention, torture and extermination centre operated during the last military dictatorship. The Board of Directors proposes plans and programs to the Executive Body of the Public Entity Space for Memory and for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights, issues an opinion on the processes of contracting services carried out by the executive body and can make suggestions regarding the institutional budget.
