Council of the National Plan
The Council of the National Plan, which is dependent on the Presidency of the Republic, is in charge of formulating the vision of the country and the national plan and to follow-up on the execution of this plan; as well as to develop periodic evaluations and recommendations on the operation of the regional development system that regulates the law. The Council can also make modifications, adaptations or strategy changes to the national plan, specifically regarding the sustainable development of the population; democracy, citizenship and governance; poverty reduction, asset building and equal opportunities; education and culture as a means of social emancipation; and health as a foundation for improving living conditions; among other considerations. The Council of the National Plan is presided by the President of the Republic, the secretary of state in the office of the President, a representative of each regional council, a representative of the different confederations of workers and all trade and business organizations.
