Project for the Strengthening of Capacities of Local Civil Society Organizations for Advocacy in Social Control
The Project for the Strengthening of Capacities of Local Civil Society Organizations for Advocacy in Social Control is an initiative of the Federation of Non-Governmental Organizations for the Development of Honduras (FOPRIDEH) which sought to strengthen civil society participation in decisions related to local public policies, mainly in order to improve the living conditions of impoverished populations. The initiative took place in 32 municipalities of the Department of Peace, Comayagua, Intibucá, and Choluteca. Among the results obtained by the project, local authorities accepted to strengthen the actions of the civil society in social monitoring and budget allocation. Likewise, in the municipal budgets, resources were observed for the development of processes with the inclusive participation of citizens.
