Citizen Oversight for Mexico City?s New Airport
The Citizen Oversight for Mexico City?s New Airport functions as an open and transparent space for participation, in order to evaluate the proposals of the federal government in relation to the new airport project. Its objective is to ensure that the works around the project are carried out with quality and transparency and that the maximum economic and social well-being is guaranteed, ensuring a sustainable use of the environment. Its main activities are related to consulting with civil society, to hear their main concerns. For this, forums were held around four central themes: a) Competitiveness and economic development; B) Urban development and mobility; C) Environment and d) Social inclusion. A second objective is the analysis of the official proposals for the new international airport of Mexico City, to make observations and recommendations of improvement and to follow up on them.
