The Construction of the National Education Plan 2001-2015 was a participatory process in which for two years, since 1998, the National Education Plan to be implemented in Nicaragua was developed. The result was the finalization of this Plan based on the main citizen-needs for sustainable development and the overcoming of poverty, and the understanding that education is an indispensable means for the reduction of this poverty. The mission of the Plan was based on the training of citizens under the precepts of educational quality, integrality and equity.
