International Observatory of Human Rights in Nicaragua
The International Observatory of Human Rights in Nicaragua was created and led by a group of civil society organizations in the country in collaboration with international and state organizations, with the aim of overcoming blockages in the dialogue between civil society and the Nicaraguan government, in the context of the conflict around the protests and violent police repressions that took place in 2018 and 2019. The organizations in charge of this space denounce the elimination of various monitoring instances, which is why they seek to independently continue with the registration of victims and following up on potential illegitimate actions by the government, in the face of the continuity of social conflict and violence.
