Committee for the Eradication of Child Labor and Protection of Working Teenagers

The Committee for the Eradication of Child Labor and Protection of Working Teenagers (CETIPPAT) was created in 2013 through Executive Decree No. 107. The Committee is an advisory body focused on the eradication of child labor and protection of working teenagers, which formulates indicators in this matter and coordinates policies accordingly. In order to do this, CETIPPAT formulates, implements and monitors a road map that contains programs and projects aimed at the eradication of child labor and the improvement of the socio-labor conditions of adolescent workers. Additionally, CETIPPAT trains public officers for the effective implementation of the Road Map. The Committee, chaired by the First Lady of the Republic, is made up of 23 members, who represent government agencies, civil society and the private sector, for example: the Panamanian Institute of Sports, the National Council of Private Enterprise, the National Confederation of Independent Trade Unions, the National Council of Organized Workers and the Observatory of the Rights of Children and Adolescents.
