Council of Public Policies for the Youth
The National Council for Youth Public Policies is an entity that advises the government on youth issues, and in turn designs and implements policies in this area. The Council also monitors the execution of the National Youth Plan and seeks to carry out a permanent diagnosis of the reality of Panamanian youth, which shall serve as an input in the formulation of programs and projects aimed at young people. The Council was created by Executive Decree no. 7 of 1999 and is made up of 26 members, who are representatives of government entities, the private sector and civil society. Among them are 5 Ministers, 5 Directors of Government Institutes, the President of the Council of Rectors of Universities (or the official designated by him/her), 14 members of the National Youth Council and the President of the National Ecumenical Committee (or the official that he designates).
