Regional Initiative for Inclusive Recycling
The Regional Initiative for Inclusive Recycling is a regional platform that aims to articulate strategies, actions, investments and knowledge about inclusive recycling. The initiative contributes to the development of inclusive recycling systems while seeking economic, social and environmental sustainability throughout the continent. This is achieved by promoting the formalization and improvement of conditions for grassroots waste pickers and by creating a circular economy of recycling. The project was born in 2011 in the Water and Sanitation Division of the Inter-American Development Bank in collaboration with IDB LAB, Coca-Cola Latin America, PepsiCo Latin America, the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Recyclers and the Avina Foundation.
