dateIdea

"dateIdea" (lit. "Get an Idea") is a project in the field of "Open Government", developed by the Agency of Electronic Government and Information Society and Knowledge of Uruguay (AGESIC), with support from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The objective of the project is to create online open government initiatives in Uruguay, which will allow progress in transparency, collaboration and citizen participation. Thus, it is intended to improve the implementation of the "Open Government" program. It began in 2012 and was carried out once a year with a focus that slightly varied. The first phase is done on Facebook such that all citizens can present problems to be solved with information technologies. In the second phase, a Hackathon is held taking into account the most voted-on issues on Facebook, and it is sought that the citizens will develop proposals for solutions and app prototypes. The proposals compete for the funds that will allow them to be Fully developed.
