Request of Referendum: Derogation of Law 16832 of the Regulatory Framework for the National Electrical System
In 1998 different union sectors (mainly of the National Administration of Power Plants and Transmittal UTE and of the Inter-Union Workers' Plenary - National Convention of Workers PIT-CNT) with the Uruguayan Federation of FUCVAM Housing Cooperatives tried to bring the referendum against the law that created the Regulatory Framework of the National Electrical System (Law 16.832). However, the minimum number of necessary signatures and the two acts of accession required to affect the referendum were not achieved.
