Request for Referendum: Repeal of Abortion Law 18.9871
In 2012 the collection of signatures to request a Referendum to overthrow Law 18.9871 for the voluntary termination of pregnancy (Law IVE), also known as the Abortion Law, began. However, only 232 841 people voted in favor of calling a referendum, representing 8.88% of all eligible voters, well below the required 25%.
