Public Hearings of the Ministry of Housing, Territorial Planning and the Environment (MVOTMA)
The Public Hearings of the Ministry of Housing, Territorial Planning and the Environment (MVOTMA) can serve several purposes. On the one hand, they can be aimed at dealing with projects that may have a significant negative environmental impact; on the other hand, projects that may have cultural, social or environmental repercussions may also be submitted to Public Hearing. Finally, the MVOTMA Public Hearings can be used to process the selection of protected areas. For all cases, the entity in charge must publish all relevant information about the projects before the hearing. The website of the Ministry documents current cases, relevant information about the projects, questions asked at the hearing and audio of the hearings.

Mode of Selection of Participants: is the innovation open to all participants, access is restricted to some kind of condition, or both methods apply?
Type of participants: those who participate are individual citizens, civil society organizations, private stakeholders or a combination of those?
Decisiveness: does the innovation takes binding, non-binding or no decision at all?
Co-governance: is there involvement of the government in the process or not?
