Special Commissions on Heritage Areas
The Permanent Special Commissions correspond to six patrimonial areas of Montevideo. They are bodies of the City Hall and have the participation of representatives of public and private institutions involved with urban planning and preservation of heritage. The Commissions participate in the preparation of plans; the proposal and evaluation of projects; and they advise the City Hall on the valuation of buildings, spaces, resources, and also seek to involve local society in the protection of their heritage.
