InfoAmazonia

InfoAmazonia is a web portal and platform developed by a group of civil society and international organizations, dedicated to the availability, visualization and analysis of open data on the Amazon jungle, as well as the dissemination of news. Focused on environmental issues, exploitation of natural resources and native communities, this project uses open data from 9 countries of the Amazon region to monitor conflicts related to the Amazon. It is based on a collaborative network of NGOs, specialized journalists, local communities and citizens. Launched in 2012 in the context of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development Rio + 20, it aims to make reliable data available and put pressure on the global agenda to stop the rapid advance of various threats to the natural resources of the Amazon region.
