State Councils of Cities
The State Councils of Cities were created as a result of a long struggle of the civil society and urban social movements. The State Councils of Cities are consultative and deliberative bodies established to formulate general guidelines and monitor the implementation of state policies for urban development. The state councils operate in conjunction with the Ministry of Cities through the National Council of Cities, and are comprised of representatives of the government and civil society.
