#EleiçõesSemTruque

#EleiçõesSemTruque (lit. Elections without tricks) consisted of an informative campaign and an interactive digital platform created by the Justiça Criminal Network in 2018, with the aim of informing the electorate of deceptive campaigns during the 2018 elections. It started as an information campaign that addressed common statements made by several candidates about insecurity and crime, contrasting them with statistical data and scientific research to demonstrate to which extent the arguments were realistic or if the claims actually based on and promoted prejudice. Subsequently, through the campaign's web platform, an interactive tool was added that allowed users to send messages directly to any candidate running for President or Governor offices in all States, inviting them to respond with data and justifications about their misleading statements. The inquiries could be focused on a range of topics including security and justice, violence, the prison system, criminal justice, and clarity and transparency in electoral campaigns.
