Citizens' Space in the Legislature of Minas Gerais

The Citizens' Space on the website of the Minas Gerais legislative body consists of several tools designed to allow citizens to express their preferences directly to regional legislators. Citizens can: 1) give their opinion on draft bills currently in process, voting in favor or against them and leaving comments directly on each file; 2) submit a suggestion for future bills, proposing a topic and the measures to be developed by legislators; 3) vote in digital polls to express support or rejection on issues that currently concern legislators, 4) contact individual legislators directly, the different committees of the Assembly, or the Ombudsman's Office to submit a question, comment, inquiry or suggestion.

Formalization: is the innovation embedded in the constitution or legislation, in an administrative act, or not formalized at all?

Frequency: how often does the innovation take place: only once, sporadically, or is it permanent or regular?

Mode of Selection of Participants: is the innovation open to all participants, access is restricted to some kind of condition, or both methods apply?

Type of participants: those who participate are individual citizens, civil society organizations, private stakeholders or a combination of those?

Decisiveness: does the innovation takes binding, non-binding or no decision at all?
