Network of ?How are we Doing?? Cities

The Colombian Network of ?How are we Doing?? Cities (Span. RCCCV) is comprised of social monitoring programs led by civil society, which have been established in different cities across the country with the purpose of generating reliable, impartial and comparable information about the subjects of interest in each city, quality Of life in it and citizen participation. Likewise, it seeks to contribute to the development of effective and transparent governments and more informed, responsible and participatory citizenships. The first initiative was created in Bogotá in 1998 under the name Bogotá Como Vamos and then expanded and adapted in 10 other cities in the country: Barranquilla, Medellín, Cali, Manizales, Pereira, Ibagué, Bucaramanga, Cartagena, Valledupar and Yumbo. The participants in the ?How are we Doing?? network come from civil society and depend on the organizational structure, which is defined by the promoting entities in each city. Each network has a defined organization, with a permanent person who runs it and working groups responsible for producing the information that is worked on from year to year. The experience of cities that have the ?How are we Doing?? program enrich, strengthen and enhance the Network through the exchange of good practices in the different local issues covered by these programs.
