District Council of Arts

The District Council of Arts was created as a setting for the District System of Art, Culture and Heritage of the Capital District, within the Arts Subsystem. The objective of this Council is to meet, deliberate, participate and coordinate public and private policies, plans and programs and the respective strategic lines of investment for the cultural development of Bogota. The members are representatives of the Councils of the District System of Art, Culture and Heritage, as well as of the district entities that work on subjects of arts and culture. Initially, the District System of Culture was created in 2002 and with it the Councils of Artistic Areas of the Capital District were defined. However, in 2007 a reform was made to this System and the District System of Art, Culture and Heritage was established and as a component of it, the Arts Subsystem and the District Council of Arts.
