Commission for the Clarification of Truth, for Coexistence and Non-Repetition (CEV)
The Commission for the Clarification of Truth, Coexistence and Non-repetition (span. CEV) was created by Legislative Act Nr. 01 of 2017 and Decree Nr. 588 of 2017, within the framework of the Comprehensive System of Truth, Justice, Reparation and Non-repetition (span. SIVJRNR), as a temporary and extrajudicial body that collaborates in the process of implementation of the so-called Peace Accords between the Government of Colombia and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - People's Army (span. FARC-EP). It is made up of 11 members elected by a public jury and through an open call, under the criteria of their non-party membership, experience and knowledge of the armed conflict in Colombia. Their mandate extends for 3 years and their functions are fundamentally investigative and historiographic, documenting the development of paramilitarism, guerrillas, and their impact on communities and human rights in the country.
