Regional Environmental Councils
The Regional Environmental Councils, attached to the Ministry of the Environment and Energy, are the decentralized regional bodies that conduct the analysis, discussion, reporting and control of environmental activities, programs and projects, with the participation of civil society. These Councils respond to the obligation of the State and the municipalities to promote the active and organized participation of the inhabitants of the Republic in decision-making of actions intended to protect and improve the environment.
