Hackathon for the "Control of tobacco and its harmful effects on health"

The Hackathon for the "Control of tobacco and its harmful effects on health" is a 2013 initiative promoted by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Costa Rica. The initiative sought specifically to generate high impact apps addressing the "Control of Tobacco and its harmful effects on health" through collaborative work from the public sector, civil society, academia and business sector. The goal was to create innovative, scalable app with a high social impact that, through the work of the teams of developers, contribute to the creation of an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship in the area of health in Costa Rica. The event was attended by six teams that presented their technological innovations to address the issues raised. In all, it can be estimated that about 50 people participated.
