National Council of Education
The National Council of Education is the most important multi-sector body at the national level for the definition of policies, guidelines, structures and contents of basic education in the Dominican Republic. It is represented by various ministries and secretariats, as well as from the public and private sector, basic and secondary education levels, teachers and non-teaching staff, as well as the from the trade unions, business, labor, family, religious and student sectors. They have broad powers for project preparation, the presentation of proposals to both the Executive and Legislative Branches and the advising and evaluation of measures and results.
