Local Popular Consultation on the Autonomy of El Oro Province
The local popular consultation on the autonomy of the province of El Oro was promoted by civil society and sub-state entities in order to verify the opinion of the population about granting greater administrative and governmental autonomy to the province of El Oro. As in the other four provinces that celebrated this consultation, the approval of the autonomy reached 80% of the votes. At the sectional level, in addition to El Oro, the consultations were carried out in Guayas, Los Ríos, Sucumbíos and Manabí.
