Montúfar Assembly
The Assembly of Montúfar Canton is a body of community participation that promotes the monitoring and participation of the social stakeholders in the different rights and needs of people living in the area. In particular, this Assembly operates under the ancestral idea of "mingas"; spaces for mutual participation and mutual assistance practiced by the indigenous communities over time. This tool is legislated under the Organic Law of Citizen Participation whereby it seeks to strengthen its collective capacity for dialogue with the authorities and influence, in an informed way the cycle of public policies, the provision of services and, in general, the management of the public. Likewise, the composition of this assembly must guarantee plurality, gender equity and generational equity. It is empowered to regulate itself by its own statutes and forms of organization.
