Creating Future

Creando Futuro (lit. Creating Future) is a project that began in 2006 in Muisne canton and in 2011 was extended to Atacames canton, both being inhabited by populations in high vulnerability situation. The initiative sought to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable social segments, in particular with regard to specific problems such as truancy, child abuse, child labor and the exclusion of people with disabilities. Among its many activities, Creando Futuro assists 200 people with disabilities in the Canton of Muisne and more than 400 families whose children have been involved in child labor. They offer recreational activities for children and adolescents while raising awareness with families. Likewise, the organization has a center for infants where they feed and stimulate 40 children aged 7 months to 3 years. Among the project's efforts, "Sundays for my family" are considered a highlight. These are days for family reunions, to enjoy free time in a playful manner, playing, chatting, debating and creating. In 2016 the central topic of the meeting was entrepreneurship.
