Cultural Agents of the Lenca People
The Cultural Managers of the Lenca People emerged as a mechanism for participation in the Program for the Promotion of Culture and Tourism for Local Development on the Lenca Route, which is being financed by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), UN Women, and the Secretary of Economic Development, with the support of the Sustainable Development Objectives Fund. Lenca youth identify the cultural resources of their communities and propose measures to safeguard their culture and transmit it outside their communities. As of 2016, 20 young people participated as cultural agents.
